6 weeks down

I only have 4 weeks left in the city and I have yet to do everything I said I would like to, now I can fully understand the phrase, "New York minute" because time flies by so quickly, yet I feel like I have been here forever.

I thought of another thing I would like to add to my list of random New York facts, the unfortunate lack of privacy. Everyone has little things they do in their car like listen to music, put on makeup, check yourself out in your rear-view mirror, etc. Even things you do at home like play games on your phone, read magazines or books, eat, talk to your friends. Well living in New York causes all of these private tasks to become very public. Majority of the city travels by subway, so I see so many people doing things that on a regular day back home I would not see. But seeing what people are reading and listening too is interesting. It is also funny to see how some girls put on makeup and watch their techniques.

Moving on, I am sorry for not blogging more frequently, but like I said, time is something I do not have a lot of. Speaking of not having a lot of, I could really use some cash right about now! Having no income is REALLY killing me, especially since all I want to do here is shop, and can you blame me!? There are stores on every street I walk down. Sadly though, my bank account is dwindling faster than you can imagine, so I have made a promise to myself that I will REFRAIN from shopping until my last weekend here. Which I will proceed to shop as much as possible, while still on a budget! So I can bring new clothes home, since I don't really shop at home anyway since the shopping sucks. =] Sounds like a good plan to me! Haha

I have been doing lots of things throughout each weekend and here are some pictures from 2 weekends ago.
Here I am at one of my fav places, Brother Jimmy's! Its so colorful inside

Me at the Met, like Blair from Gossip Girl. =] The only thing I need is a fab wardrobe and a cup of yogurt! lol

I can't forget to mention of course, the 2010 Coney Island Mermaid Parade! It was insane and somewhat gross. This year was interesting to see since the oil spill, many people took the opportunity to take a political stand point. People were dressed as underwater creatures, covered in oil. Or, BP workers covered in oil.

Then there were the usual, mermaids. Some prettier than others, some more clothed than others! I saw way more chests than I would have liked to, and I'm not talking about treasure chest if you know what I mean. Most "mermaids" were topless.

Me as a mermaid and Bubs the fish! Hahah, you can't really see it but were COVERED in body glitter.

A work update, still opening boxes, I have become good friends with everyone in the mailroom. Friday the office was rearranged, I actually have a desk and computer that will hopefully be moved closer to my boss'. I still like it here, but I miss the important people I am use to seeing on a daily basis.

Hope you liked,

Marcy
